About Mary Laskey

I have a BFA from University of Illinois–Champaign. I have been a jewelry designer and maker for over 35 years. Selling my original jewelry designs has been my primary occupation for over 25 years.

I design and make glass enamel and metal jewelry that is easy to wear, yet eye-catching and distinctive. My pieces unite colorful glass, bold patterns, metal textures and geometric shapes to create a vibrant contemporary style.

My work is inspired by Mid-Century atomic motifs and artists such as Alexander Calder and Barbara Hepworth. I have taught many jewelry making classes and workshops for adults and teens at a number of locations, most notably Evanston Art Center and Lillstreet Art Center. Also Ravensgoods, Magpie Studio (Oak Park), Social Justice High School (Little Village Lawndale High School).
